The 2006 Entertainment yearbook

The December 29th 2006 issue of Entertainment Weekly would make a great yearbook. It covers all the big celebrity hits, misses, and downright dumb activities for 2006.  Even if you didn’t watch much television this year, you could probably catch up with this special year-end double issue.

You also get an insiders look with personal interviews of the top 12 entertainers for 2006. They cover everyone from the cast of Gray’s Anatomy to Spike Lee.

Finally EW pays homage to our favorite entertainers who have ventured on to a new plain of existence and review the best and worst in entertainment including movies, TV, DVDs, and music.

EBSCO has 57 issues of Entertainment Weekly for $24.95, quite a bargain at 87% off the cover price.

2006 TAX DEDUCTION

Don’t forget your last minute tax deduction!

Only three days left in 2006…If you need to find a last minute tax deduction, you can apply any business or industry-related magazine subscription purchase for your reception areas to your list of deducted expenses. These purchases lay within the guidelines outlined in the 2006 IRS Tax Code.

So, if there are any other magazines for your reception area that you have not ordered in the past, but might like to try, now is your last window of opportunity in 2006 to give them a test drive. Remember, with any business related expense, you are reducing your taxable income. These deductions will reduce your company's tax liability and thus improve your bottom line!

Please be sure to make your purchase between now and December 31st 2006 so that it will be eligible.

AS A MATTER OF FACT

Magazines that cover Hobbies Crafts Games and Puzzles What is your favorite hobby or pastime?

We are always looking for that Holy Grail that will help us reduce the stress of our daily lives. With the holidays upon us and a couple days off you may have found a few extra hours to revisit your favorite hobby or pastime. There are some of us that feel we are not creative. The funny thing is I believe you don’t have to have an “artistic eye” to be considered creative. I have always felt that being creative is doing a task that feels effortless and where time seems to disappear.

Creativity is such a nebulous term, but I like to define it as a time in which you get to exercise your soul. You can be a creative organizer, people who collect toys, comics, coins, stamps and rocks are usually very creative when it comes to labeling, categorizing, and displaying things.

Sometimes working with your hands gives your mind a much needed break; gardening, painting, sculpting, drawing, scrap booking, sewing, needlepoint, beads, and origami are all meditative experiences that allow your fingers and hands to do the thinking.

Finally there are mental hobbies, reading, writing, blogging, crosswords, number games, photography, electronics, movies, and music…all tap that internal excess mental energy that screams to be released.

The one advantage I have found working here at EBSCO is that they have a huge selection of magazines to cover whatever niche, hobby, or creative pastime you could possibly ever attempt. Check out our Hobbies, Crafts, Puzzles, and Games Category to find the magazines that align with your internal voice of expression.

If you don’t see one for your particular pastime…contact us through Live Support, send us an email, or give us a call; we have hundreds more in our offline catalog. I am certain that we can find just about any title you can think of no matter how esoteric.

Have a very safe and Happy New Year!
