What is your favorite hobby or pastime?
We are always looking for that Holy Grail that will help us reduce the stress of our daily lives. With the holidays upon us and a couple days off you may have found a few extra hours to revisit your favorite hobby or pastime. There are some of us that feel we are not creative. The funny thing is I believe you don’t have to have an “artistic eye” to be considered creative. I have always felt that being creative is doing a task that feels effortless and where time seems to disappear.
Creativity is such a nebulous term, but I like to define it as a time in which you get to exercise your soul. You can be a creative organizer, people who collect toys, comics, coins, stamps and rocks are usually very creative when it comes to labeling, categorizing, and displaying things.
Sometimes working with your hands gives your mind a much needed break; gardening, painting, sculpting, drawing, scrap booking, sewing, needlepoint, beads, and origami are all meditative experiences that allow your fingers and hands to do the thinking.
Finally there are mental hobbies, reading, writing, blogging, crosswords, number games, photography, electronics, movies, and music…all tap that internal excess mental energy that screams to be released.
The one advantage I have found working here at EBSCO is that they have a huge selection of magazines to cover whatever niche, hobby, or creative pastime you could possibly ever attempt. Check out our Hobbies, Crafts, Puzzles, and Games Category to find the magazines that align with your internal voice of expression.
If you don’t see one for your particular pastime…contact us through Live Support, send us an email, or give us a call; we have hundreds more in our offline catalog. I am certain that we can find just about any title you can think of no matter how esoteric.
Have a very safe and Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
