RegionalMagazinesFind a Fall Food Festival Near You

Fall is in full swing and it’s prime time for many fall harvest festivals including Oktoberfest. My wife and I just took our son to his first pumpkin patch. He found eating dirt in the field much more interesting than the big orange pumpkin in front of his face.

Speaking of eating, I love this time of year because there are so many food festivals. Two weekends ago we went to the local Greek festival.  The food was magnificent. I wish I could take a year off and tour the country to attend every food festival in the US. Talk about being fat and happy.

Do you know what’s going on near you? Here is a quick list…check out the expanded list here

Is your city or state on not on the above list? Use the Food Network Festival Finder to find some fun this month…

If you want to keep on top of what’s going on in and around your city and state, be sure to check out our Regional Magazines Category. Never wonder what to do on the weekends again.

Lowering your energy bills

BetterHomesAndGardens With the weather cooling I am able to get into my unfinished upstairs bedrooms and add the insulation I intended to install this past spring. After my last outrageous power bill (from the excessive summer heat) I’ve decided to make my insulation job a high priority so that I don’t lose excessive heat this winter.

The October 2007 issue of Better Homes and Gardens came to the rescue. Coincidentally they have a four page article on pages 122 through 128 that contains a plethora of cost-effective energy efficient upgrades that you can do to your home to lower you energy bills up to 28%.

Improve the indoors and outdoors of your home with Better Homes and Gardens.  At 71% off the cover price, it’s difficult to beat 12 issues for $12.00.
