Featuring ESPN Magazine

ESPN magazine is sports reporting the way it ought to be - with oversized photography, off the field athlete interviews, and season previews and predictions. It is just as big and bold as the sports television that created it, only in print. It covers all major sporting events and venues.

Add ESPN Magazine for 86% off the cover price and you'll get 26 issues for $15.00.

Are you ready for some football?

Cool weather is on its way and I can already smell the chili cooking. Ah, my favorite time of year! I cracked open this week’s ESPN to find a list of the Top 16 College Picks by ESPN.

The article on pages 129-156 states that besides USC number one slot the other 15 picks are a toss up. Here is their Top 5…be sure to grab a copy of this week’s ESPN Magazine to find out who else is part of the Power 16. Ouch! Michigan may not make it back onto the list with last week's embarrassment.

  1. USC
  2. LSU
  3. Texas
  4. West Virginia
  5. Michigan

As A Matter Of Fact

Are you for speed, skill, craftsmanship, or ingenuity?

In the world of motor sports currently NASCAR is king.  Speed is definitely an American addiction, although I will admit that driving in close formation at over 150 miles an hour does take a certain amount of professional skill. The only thing that I have had a problem with NASCAR racing is that it really isn’t about who can build the fastest car anymore.  All the restrictions for safety have really limited the quest for more land speed, and to me it looks like it’s more about who will not wear down their tires or run out of gas before the end of the race.   As you can probably tell, I’m not the biggest fan of NASCAR but if you are, we carry two titles that cover this sport extensively.

If you love cars in general there is the whole world of car restoration and/or modification . I’m not sure if this is really a sport per se, but if you saw how many people actually participate and appreciate this pastime, you’d have to at least consider it to be a sport. Aged vehicle restoration has a huge following with the older crowd.

The newer generation seems to prefer modding/street racing, as demonstrated in the popularity of the Fast and the Furious movie franchise.  Personally, I’ve always wanted to take an old classic vehicle, refurbish the outside to pristine condition, but then mod the interior to look modern. Whether you love restoration or modification, check out this category ; there are ton of nice magazines for all types of vehicles foreign and domestic.

CrawlMagazine When it comes to ingenuity there is one extreme motor sport that is becoming extremely popular with the younger crowd. Off-road “Rock Crawling” combines 4 wheel driving skills with custom automotive technology to conquer boulders, basins, and badlands. The concept of the sport is to modify your off-road vehicle, drive it over obstacles not meant to be driven over, break it, fix it and then try to drive over it again.

Crawl magazine is a new to our catalog. It covers all aspects of rock crawling…so if you are into watching or participating in extreme motor sports then this magazine will definitely start your engines.

If you or your customers love cars, be sure to check out the rest of our selections under the Truck, Car and Motorcycle Magazines category.

Fall Fashions are in

WMagazineIf you pile Vanity Fair, Elle, Vogue, W, Allure, and Glamour on top of each other, the stack is about eight inches thick this month. The newest fall fashions adorn the pages of all the big style magazines.

After perusing the GIGANTIC W magazine, it looks like metallic outfits are still in with gold making a come back. Bright bold colored solids accented with black will keep your cool gray days upbeat. Judging by the number of pages I counted in all the fashion magazines, it appears that satin will replace your summer cotton.  Black and shades of charcoal are replacing last years chocolate brown as the “in” neutral color.

Get 12 SUPERSIZED issues of W magazine for $14.95. That’s not too bad for 72% off the cover price.
